Hello everyone!! Welcome to Language 2!!!
My name is Yesica R. Baracat. I'm your Language 2 teacher.We are going to be together for one year and I hope we can get on well and learn together. Language 2 is aimed to develop your English language skills so that you can reach an upper-intermediate level. Therefore, you need a lot of speaking, reading, listening and writing practice to improve. This blog is intended to be used as a "disscussion board allowing all of you an equal environment in which to participate in class discussions. Here you will also can have access to the class schedule and assignments; useful links; homework and your own works posted on the blog. I want you to participate in this blog whose aim is to give you a place where we can be in contact and practice English. All asingments here will be considered as "practicos"; therefore, they will be assessed by the teacher.
I hope you enjoy this year which is part of your training as future teachers.

Here you have a short video about a documentary movie which shows in a funny way how people from China were desperate to learn English during the Olympic games.It made me think about the importance of English as a univesal language nowadays. My favorite one is the policeman at the very end.

Hello everyone!!!and teacher!! answering your questions, I started studing English when I was much younger (...), because there were things (lyrics or movies) that I couldn´t understand, and that wasn´t right!!, so, with some old books I started studing English until I had the oportunity of start my Enhlish learning in an institute. Then, I studied some other languages to be able of comunicate with foreigners in their own language, but I realized English is the most important because everybody (or a big majority) knows at least, a little bit of English. So, there was and there is always possible to have a conversation with someone who speaks a different language!!! Is a fact that it is the global language, and therefore, its importance.
ReplyDeletehello, I saw the video and it was very funny I have to say... well I started to study english at the secondary school, after I finished the secondary I tried to study in the university one career that I thought it was good for me. But when I discovered that it was not my place I decided to change, I did not know what to do and my girl friend suggested me the franklin institute I did not know how to speak english at all, i just knew a few things about it.

ReplyDeleteWell, About the questions..I love English!! I like chating, singing, thinking or writing English. I like languages in general but specially English since from my viewpoint it's the universal language. It has a lot of advantages. For instance it's easier to get a job for someone who speaks english than for someone who doesn't.
Even if you want to travel anywhere the "key" is English!!!
My first English class was in primary school (6th year) and was good, in secondary school it was peace of cake but when I started the tourism carrer it was harder.So I wanted to improve my English and I started a course in Franklin Institute and since that moment I knew that I wanted to "learn to teach".
Finally I started the teacher trainning college and in 2nd year I'm sure that this is what I want for me.
Nowadays in this new global world You must study english is not a luxe or a freetime activity. It's a necessity!!!

About the questions:
The principal reason I study English is why
I really like it!
Moreover I can communicate in a foreign language with a lot of people of different parts of the world .Due to the English is considered a universal language.
And also I can know their different culture, custons round the world too.
In other hands all know that turism is increase too much in Salta, so it is essential to learn the language nowadays .Knowing this you could get works easily

ReplyDeleteWhen I was in the secondary school English subject wasn't one of my favourite subjects but something happended when I was in the last year.Teacher who used to teach us this language had gone and we knew Martha Figueroa.Enlish subject was more interested than year before becouse she always carried different english plays to class, like riddles and short stories about animal which had to be comment in class.I think that year English language began to interested me.
I believe that English Language is very useful nowdays specially when we want to know how turn on an electrical appliance.The problems start when we read intructions and all of them are in english.Besides most of companies include in their requirement at moment of publish an advertisement to know speak basic english.It's the official language of developed countries.

ReplyDeleteAnswering the questions, I choose this career la last year because I wanted to improve my school english.I must to do it because even that I went to some English Institutes for five or six years during my secundary school and that I went to another Institute when a went to study at de University in Buenos Aires, I didn't remembered how to speak, so I wanted to try again an learn all that I want. The English language is very usefull now a days in many oportunities in our lifes. We coul need it to work, to speak with tourists when they ask us some information or for travel. But for me the most important think is that I like it a lot. Well that is all for now.

ReplyDeleteWell, the video was really funny. It was interesting to see how important is learning english to Chinese people.
As regard the questions....
First of all, I always love studying english. I remember that when I was a child I used to wonder myself what some lyrics meant XD...As I attended to school, learning english wasn't difficult for me. Besides, I rather prefer studying it than study maths (so boring) =).
Secondly, as the vast majority of my classmates know, one of my dream is to be a journalist. Actually, in 2008 I came to Franklin Institute in order to improve my language. I mean, I started the teacher training course as I wanted to learn how to speak fluently. To continue with, I did it as, the way I see it, a journalist must speak a good english as it can help him with interviews as well as writing articles.
Finally, learning english has many advantages. One of them, is when you go abroad. For example, the video shows a couple who asked the taxi driver where could they buy. The Chinese man replied they could buy and they could walk. I mean, if he had known a better english it would have been more easier to establish a conversation. To sum up, from my point of view, english is really important for international business.
Thanks miss, this has been a really interesting way to improve our language....=)

the advantages to learn english=those who grow up speaking english can be undestood almost every where in the word among scholars and educated people.English is the word media language ,the speech of cinemas ,tv shows,pop music and computers.every people must to know the pronunciation of many english words,names of places and people.The use of E nglish language so is widely spread all over the world,that nobody can deny that english is the true esperanto,the actual universal language.

Now Im in therd year but I have to pass my test of lenguage1 and grammar1 too.so I will can do all subjet.

Hello everyone!! My name is Maria Eugenia and i am 33 years old.I have alwaysloved English since I was a child. Two years ago I decided to start studying English at Franklin College. I thought that this career has its limits and there are more jobs at teachers for the children. I love kids. I have two fo my own and I try to teach them English. English allows me to communicate with other people, learn about the cultures and go other place I wouldnt normally have a chance to go do. I went to Egypt and Israel for 1 month so i could learn more English. I have alot of friends, like Bryan and my boyfriend Stuart who teach me English. They are both American.

I can see myself giving english lessons in a classroom. There are lots of advantages of learning english, first of all it is a necessity when we want to apply for a job. ReplyDeletehello classmates and teacher.i want to start talking about this teaching trainer course.well i decided to start the profesorado at the franklin institute because when i was in the secundary i liked it so much.i had never have engish classes before so i thought it could be difficult but then i realised that this subject was more interesting and useful no only for speak also for meet the culture, the life and other things or habits of people in the world.
i thing english is an important language.if you know speak english you can have a good comunication with a lot of people may be with tourist or anothers,you can found a good job,travel alone,etc.

Hello Miss and classmate!! The video is very funny and motivational as well because these people tried to learn. Even thought it is a very difficult language!! And answering your question, I want to tell you that I like English a lot. In spite of is difficult for me I am going to practice in other to improve it. I think that I can achieve with effort and care. I decided study English owing to is an universal language and is necessary to know English if you wanted to find a job or travel.

Hello everybody!!! My name is Cecilia Hernandez. I am 29 years old. I have been studying English for 3 years since I started studying English at Franklin Institute . Sorry for my comment but I do not like this method because I have not got time to do this I have not got computer either. I do not like also because the others students could read my comment. I prefer write than answer at the computer. When I wrote in my house I felt more sure since I could check all my mistakes and with metoth I do not check. Please try to help me and give me the other homework........

Hi classmates and Ms. Yesica¡¡¡ I like English since I was a child, I remember when my father taught me my first words in English (numbers, colours and animals). For me learning English always was funny. This is the reason that I´m studying English now. Moreover, I believe English is an important language around the world so I want learning to use it correctly. In the future, I would like to teach this language to children as my father taught me in my childhood.

Moreover, it is the second most spoken language all over the world. What is more, nowadays it is really important to learn it as it is required for any job.

Well about the questions... I always liked English. I started studying English because when I was a child there were things such us songs, movies, stories that I couldn´t understand, I felt sad.
I hadn`t a good learning English in high school.So, when I have the opportunity to study English I felt very happy. At first it was hard to learn but when I understood I realize how much I wanted to be a English teacher.
Learn English is very importan, opens may posibilities ( personnel and labor ). You can travel around the world and understand what the other people say, and also meet new friends and places.

Hi miss, I´m Mariela. Luckly I can enter to the blog. About your question: I start to study english when I was in the higt school, at first I didn´t want to go but my mum send me the same. Then I start to love english Before I start here at the Franklin Instituto I went to The English House Institute ( for 6 years). For me is very important the english because I work at a rent a car and teh first thing that I have to know is this lenguage.
ReplyDeleteIf you want to get a job one of the requicits is the lenguage. If you want to buy something speaking about tecnology the manual it´s in english.
Now abot the video I thing it very funny I enjoy it very much, but I don´t think that the japanese are who speak english in this video because their fonetic is very similar to the american people, I think that the have to speak more diferent or not?
